ZU ANYANWU MAKES UFC DEBUT

ZU ANYANWU MAKES UFC DEBUT

Getting the call on one weeks notice Bensalem’s Zu Anyanwu arrived with his camp in Pittsburgh for the UFC Fight Night.  Zu stepped up on short notice against the undefeated Justin Ledit. At the end of the third round the judges rendered their decision which had Zu losing via split decision. The crowd booed the decision in favor of Zu. With more time to prepare for his next opponent Zu vowed to come back stronger, leaner and in better shape.

Overall it was a great experience for the former CFFC Heavyweight Champ who can’t wait to step back into the cage.

MPR CLEANS UP AT CFFC 67

MPR AT CFFC 67

What an amazing weekend for our MPR Fight Team! Not only did we have an amazing short notice UFC debut by our own Zu Anyanwu, also all of our fighters came home victorious at CFFC 67. Billy Conway made his ammy debut against a very tough opponent which he was able to put away on his feet. Zach Haynes brought his ammy record to 3-1 picking up a unanimous decision over a game opponent on just 3 days notice.

Highly touted Professional Pat Sabatini stole the show as the main event with a 50 second submission victory to become the newest CFFC Champion. Sabatini was able to make short work over his opponent while taking no damage. The future is bright for this young star who has his sights set on the UFC next.

ZU KNOCKS OUT UFC CONTENDER SHOW
On the first ever UFC Dana White Contender Series at the UFC TUFF warehouse in Las Vegas Zu Anyanwu knocked out the highly touted Greg Rebello midway through the second round. Zu’s knockout was the first knockout on Dana White’s new series. This finish solidified Zu as the top heavyweight MMA prospect in the US.

A stunned and Snoop Dog and Uriah Faber called the fight and added some funny commentary to Zu’s knockout. The replay can be seen on the UFC Fight Pass online along with the Snoop Dog commentary. Not sure what the next move will be for Zu, but we’re all sure it will be a big one.

Saturday night Pro MMA Fighter and MPR Coach Pat Sabatini picked up right where he left off after his first fight.  He finished his opponent in a little over one minute via rear naked choke.  So far he has had nearly two perfect, quick fights that both ended in the first round by rear naked choke.  In addition to his great performance he was awarded his JiuJitsu Blackbelt inside of the cage by BJJ legend Daniel Gracie.  It was an awesome night at the Harrahs Chester Casino!
